Conversations with Micah

Posted in Conversations with Micah, Family, Personal Updates with tags , on May 14, 2010 by Lee

Here is a recent conversation with my son. It is brief. It is a sign my son is moving ever closer to a teenager.

Micah: “Dad, I am growing up.”

Dad: “Micah, why are you telling me this?”

Micah: “When boys grow older they become interested in girls.”

So, I’ve just been informed my son is interested in girls. So it begins.

Daddy – Daughter Date Night

Posted in Conversations with Megan, Family, Personal Updates with tags , , on January 15, 2010 by Lee

Tonight Megan and I went on a “date.” Some one on one time between daughter and father.

It was a great night. We enjoyed a great meal @ our favorite restaurant in the world – “Chilis”. Finished it off with a root-beer float at A&W. In between, we sandwiched discussions about school, test, friends, Abraham’s example of obedience, comments about me veering off my diet a bit (it was only a tiny bit) and why God is not selfish for demanding our worship (her question).

All in all a great night with a great 10 year old.

Father, for the sake of your glory and for the sake of her sanctification, help me to be all I am supposed to be.

Time for a face lift

Posted in Blogging, Personal Updates with tags , on January 7, 2010 by Lee

Well – I have not done a very good job of keeping this blog updated. And it is in need of face lift. So I will be working on this on and off for the next few days (in between everything else.)

But stay tuned – should have something working in a few days and with a new purpose and plan.

Setting: Family sitting at the dinner table enjoying some Chicken Empanadas.

Mom: Micah, this is a type of food you can eat with your hands.

Micah: (in his best Simon/British accent) Mother, I am not a savage – I am a gentleman!

(This was just after he pulled his shirt up and starting rubbing his belly at the dinner table)

Setting: Mom, Dad & Megan browsing through JC Penny’s

Megan: Mom, I am going to get a shirt that says, “Some one needs to spend Daddy’s money!” (She throws a coy smile at mom, along with some attitude, and adds) And its not going to be you!

I wonder who she is implying will spend my money.

Spurgeon

Spurgeon

Here is a recent addition to our family. Meet Spurgeon.

Rhonda and I had been talking for a while about getting a puppy. We wanted a dog the kids could grow up with and enjoy from day one. Our research and preference took us to the boxer. After and endless search across the state of Tx (literally from El Paso to Houston & Amarillo to McAllen – online of course) we stumbled across some great people and hour down the road. Thus we met Spurgeon.

And now we are off on a new adventure. I am sure there will be many.

october-2008-fam-pic-by-cozart Here are a couple of recent family pics. Our friends, Laura and Slade Cozart took these for us. They are based out of San Angelo and would love to help you with your next photo adventure. I highly recommend them. You can find their website here. The sight showcases their work.
